Merry Christmas from RWI!

The birth of Jesus in Bethlehem reminds us of God’s gracious redeeming love to save His people and communicate His character to a lost and dying world.

“The Word became flesh and dwelt among us”.

When Jesus spoke, God was speaking. When we read the Bible, God is speaking.

The Proclaimers, solar-powered audio devices with the New Testament in the vernacular, have made it possible for thousands of people to hear God’s Word for the first time. The impact is amazing to behold and very sobering.

In Mbandaka scores of “listening clubs” have formed where people who don’t have written Bibles come together regularly to listen and discuss what they hear. They want to understand and then consider how to apply what they hear. One man’s testimony was, “Now I confidently refute the false teachings that I’m often confronted with”. Young people without written Bibles of their own can quote the passages they listened to.

The Director of Mbandaka’s Central Prison believes God’s Word can transform hearts and prepare the inmates for life when they are released. Since October, twelve “listening clubs” have been started with at least eight voluntary inmates in each.

Because of the enthusiastic response, we hope to launch many more groups soon.

Please pray with us in this new and strategic ministry. Pray that God will give us men who can lead the groups and disciple those who come to saving faith in Jesus Christ.

United in Love, Walking in Hope, Persevering in Faith,
